About Apartment Development

The Apartment Acquisition and Development Department at Shea Properties actively pursues opportunities to acquire and develop Class A, multi-family communities. Its experienced, multi-faceted team has developed award-winning apartment communities throughout California and Colorado—from garden-style walk-up neighborhoods to high-density wrap products to mixed-use developments. The team is well-versed in the entire process of taking raw land through the entitlement process and on to stabilization. Currently, Shea Properties owns and manages over 7,200 apartment units.

Shea Properties was recognized as the Developer of the Year by the South Coast Apartment Association for its City Lights project in Aliso Viejo, California. Other projects in the development portfolio include Calypso Lofts in Irvine, The Artisan at East Village in Oxnard, Madrid in Mission Viejo, Waterford in Dublin, and The Avenue in Colorado.

	Trio A mixed-use, podium type product, Trio is located in the Playhouse District of Pasadena. It features street-level restaurants and shops, with seventeen apartment and mezzanine style floor plans. Granite and marble countertops, black or stainless steel appliances and full-sized washers and dryers round out the resort style amenities.
	Waterford Waterford Place is a 390 unit, mixed-use, wrap product in Dublin, CA and features some of its seven unique floor plans above the 125,670 sf Safeway-anchored retail center. This gated community includes a recreation room with gourmet kitchen, movie theater, fitness center and courtyards featuring a pool, spa or unique water feature.
	City Lights City Lights is the 2001 Developer of the Year award winning wrap project in Aliso Viejo, CA. Nine floor plans are built around courtyards that feature pools, spas and unique waterscapes. The community also includes a recreation room with gourmet kitchen, movie theater, business center, fitness center and car wash area.
	Madrid Madrid Apartment Homes offer a choice of 16 floor plans within a controlled access entry community. Plenty of covered or garage parking, resort-style pool/spa, recreation room, fitness center and business center round out the amenities provided in this 3-story walk-up project.
